Sprint Meet - 6.5.2012
Our yearly Sprint Meet was a great success, with more than 140 swimmers, out of which about 50 were approaching our Team for their first time. Thanks to all swimmers, parents and volunteers for a great and fun event! The results are published here
Note: the competition rules say that only the 2 best swimmers per each team, per swim and category can bring in points to their team. A ‘X’ is placed to mark those swimmers that did not bring points to their teams because of this rule.

HISTORY OF THE TEAM
The Team has been established in 1984, and the following year joined the ISST (International Schools Sports Tournament) Championship, competing with other international schools of Brussels.
In 1995 the Team went even more international and joined the EFSL. The majority of the competitions we participate in are organised in Northern Europe (Belgium, Netherland, Germany, the UK), but long-distance meets and finals are organised with a rotation principle in any European country where there is a Team affiliated to the EFSL. The EFSL Championship runs every year from August till February, but the ESB Swimming Team participates only to competitions from mid September on.

THE EFSL
The European Forces Swim League is formed by swimming teams of the US Forces, Nato and European Union. They include young swimmers of the primary and secondary cycles of education.
The EFSL is not competitive with, nor to draw participants away from, local competitive swim programmes such as national or regional championships.
Each team of the EFSL has a different origin and a different number of competitive swimmers. However, all have the common interests of providing a program of competitive swimming on the local level and a healthy environment in which children can grow emotionally and physically.
Presently there are 19 swimming teams affiliated to the EFSL, representing more than 1,000 swimmers throughout Europe. These Teams are located in Belgium, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
